A time schedule regulates the au pair ´s working and free time during her/his stay. Thus the au pair always precisely knows when she/he is needed by the host family and when he/she has time for herself/himself.

All regular and irregular duties and dates of an au pair belong to the time schedule. Such activities, like for example when the children should be brought from the school or when to prepare food for them should be included there. Also the days in which the host family needs the au pair as a babysitter should be put in the time schedule. Just the same as the dates of events to which the children should be accompanied or brought home by the au pair.

A time schedule offers to an au pair and to the host family a good overview of the au pair´s working time. Thanks to that the mutual common life can be successfully organized. The au pair can plan her/his free time and the language course attendance accordingly. And the family can also plan its activities in the same way.

The best solution both for an au pair and a host family would be to discuss duties and expectations already before the au pair´s arrival. Thus misunderstandings and problems can be avoided.
